Where We Are

We’re hiring a Developer

Application deadline, February 12th 2016

We’re looking for a developer to join our growing team in Cornwall. We’d love to hear from anyone who is as passionate about creating beautiful, usable and scalable websites as we are.

The role is ideal for a recent graduate, although you don’t have to have a degree if you’ve got experience fo’ reals. You’ll get 16–20k for your troubles depending on experience, plus a company MacBook and phone.

We understand that there’s life outside work, so we work flexible hours around a core of 10am to 4pm, and we don’t work weekends or evenings – and you won’t be asked to either.

If that wasn’t enough you’ll also get an annual £1000 conference & training budget, 23 days holiday (+ bank holidays) and some time off for mince pies at Christmas.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  1. You’re a talented, creative individual who is passionate about coding cutting-edge HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  2. You have a detailed understanding of coding usable websites. Responsive, accessible and progressive design is our bag (and it should be yours too)
  3. You know what a CMS is, and can code in at least PHP and hopefully Python (we can train you up on the latter)
  4. You know your way around Wordpress, and have used ACFs before
  5. You love using templating languages such as Twig and Nunjucks (we certainly do)
  6. Experience using git and git-based workflows
  7. You’ve at least shaken hands with things like Node, Sass and Gulp
  8. Testing and QA are second nature, and you love getting stuck in through browser and device testing
  9. Responding to bug reports and site maintenance
  10. You can remember what you’ve done before, and can help with estimating new projects

Bonus points for:

  1. You’ve built something with Django, or ideally Wagtail
  2. Experience with CommonJS modules and ES6
  3. Experience with building REST APIs, and integrating with third-party ones
  4. You know about Docker
  5. Understanding how DNS works
  6. Being an all round lovely human being

How to apply*

Of course, we’d love to see your work, so please provide some examples.
